The World Affairs Council of the Desert has a long tradition of bringing knowledgeable and effective speakers on world affairs to the Coachella Valley to contribute to the cultural life of our communities.  Our first Newsletter of the 2011-2012 Season provides information about our programs and informs our members of new and innovative aspects of the council.  As in the past, we are strong supporters of the Academic World Quest, a valley wide academic competition among high schools to generate interest among youth on matters of world importance. In addition, our members sponsor students at both the college and high school level to participate in our meetings.  The World Affairs Council will stimulate our audiences with a dynamic speaker program and provides a social environment that is friendly and appealing.
