DATE AND LOCATION Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Indian Wells Theater, CSUSB Palm Desert Campus 37-500 Cook Street, Palm Desert Teams are expected to arrive by 4:00 p.m.
Academic WorldQuest 2024-2025 Categories The categories for this year’s AWQ National Competition have been updated by the World Affairs Council of America, with input from member World Affairs Councils across the country, to reflect several of the most critical global and U.S. foreign policy issues.
Topics for the local competition in the Coachella Valley include:

The Mission of the Academic WorldQuest (AWQ) Competitionis to inspire high school students across the United States to adopt a culture of global engagement.
The World Affairs Council of the Desert’s competition is just one of over 50 World Affairs Council competitions held throughout the year. These events involve more than 3,000 students from a wide range of geographic and economic backgrounds. The ultimate goal for these students is to earn the opportunity to represent their communities at the prestigious Carlos and Malú Alvarez Academic WorldQuest National Competition. Since 2003, winning teams have traveled to Washington, DC, every April to vie for the national championship.
