It was so very cold in the room during dinner and when the speaker presented. It is difficult to understand why the venue did not control the temperature as many left because of being so cold.
The speaker may have had information to share, however, he read his speech, as anyone could have done, so quickly that much of what he said was not intelligible. We found it to be a very disappointing evening.

I thought the overall subject matter was interesting and the speaker informative. He covered perhaps too much ground in the time allotted and, consequently, he felt impelled to speak fast, sometimes in an unintelligible tone. I also think some of the points the speaker made were redundant and could have been more succinctly stated.

His slides could have enhanced his presentation during his reading of his notes. The best part of the night was his answering attendees’ questions, which showed his grasp of the subject matter without using notes.

I thought the speaker spent too much time defining terms before he got into the meat of his talk. Would have liked to have heard how successful all of the government agencies have been in identifying sources of money laundering and terrorism financing. Some real life examples would have made it more interesting.

His enthusiasm for his subject and his profession was engaging.

Good subject, poorly presented. Speaker read everything and was difficult to understand.

The topic was fascinating and certainly could have filled several presentations. The speaker was competent if slightly difficult to understand at times. The presentation left me with wanting to know more about this complex subject.
The venue was fine, food good, and the attendees were congenial.

I found myself completely engaged by the speaker and topic. His knowledge of this vast, entangled, international criminal enterprise and the vast, international interdiction effort was presented methodically but was too much information for a 1 hour presentation. It could have been a three part series. We certainly did not enjoy the messy dishes on the table, with no water and no service. No matter who speaks, this condition is a great distraction. I recommend another venue!

Hard to hear.
Slides to accompany the speech would help.
A very high level overview. Perhaps too high. I always like to consider "what could I do differently in my life?"
Met some very nice people.

The steak should be medium rare,

Overall a good time was had.

Unfortunately, this presentation was compromised by the speaker’s too rapid delivery, the need for an improved organization that would have allowed the audience to better grasp the sequential relationship of the various sub-topics, the corresponding need for visuals throughout, and a sub-optimal summary.

In our view, this presentation was focused (poorly) on what is known as the AML/CFT program – Anti Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism. This program was adopted by multilateral investment/commercial banking institutions, and various government agencies around the world, starting about 15 years ago. The framework has benefited from vast improvements into the present day, driven by the power of state-of-the-art hardware & software tools that facilitate early detection and mitigation of illicit financial transactions associated with international crime, conspiracies, terrorism, etc.

For our WACD audience, the best quick reference for this subject can be found at the IMF (International Monetary Fund) web site, and here is the link (in general terms):

IN GENERAL, I ENJOY OUR SPEAKERS AND LEARN A LOT. THE ABOVE COMMENTS ARE HOW I FELT. IT WAS THE BEST DINNER SO FAR. I FINISHED IT ALL. I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR MAY EVENT AND WILL MISS IT ALL OVER THE SUMMER.

As usual the subject matter was interesting to me. The speaker was knowledgeable as most of our speakers. However, I agree with a previous respondent, he did speak too fast making it hard to understand some of his delivery. I was able to talk with him before and after the meeting and found him warm and friendly. I was impressed by his interest in talking to our students that attended that evening.
