Very interesting and more than a little depressing. Alex did a good job with his presentation as well as with the questions that followed. As usual Ken did a great job handling questions and leading the discussion. Well done!

This presentation plus the Q&A was very illuminating regarding the past and present HK situation.

Notwithstanding the collapse of the CCP, it would appear that the economic and financial center importance of HK (in its historic city/state role) has been deemed secondary to the unified power and control over the entire country by the CCP. As pointed out by Mr. Chow, HK is no longer the primary source of Foreign Direct Investments for China. Plus, alternative financial centers (Shanghai in particular) now prevail, and the Chinese "Belt and Road" trade and investment initiative (a bad deal for any participating sovereign country) is centrally managed from Beijing.

"Two systems" will not be allowed to prevail, lest this model be repeated in other Chinese provinces.

Mr. Chow proved to be quite insightful, thoughtful and deliberate in his responses, much to his credit. Moderator role well done by Ken.

We look forward to the "Around the World" sessions planned for Summer 2021.

Excellent summary of the history and present status of the protest movement in Hong Kong. Alex Chow is a very bright and courageous young man. Difficult to see however how the CCP would accept a democratic and autonomous Hong Kong as long as their strength and power continues to grow and the economy of the PRC continues to flourish.

Very informative. And . . . the future of Hong Kong, as a democracy, appears to be bleak.

We don't usually have a native speaker explaining from exile what is going on his country. Alex Chou presented reality and dashed all our hopes that China might ease up and allow them to be a world- class financial center. It was helpful discussing Tawain too. Thanks Kenneth for sharing your family background. It was a very intimate conversation for all of us.

Well spoken young man. Their situation seems so hopeless that we are amazed at his and his compatriots resilience and fortitude to continue fighting the Chinese government.
