“The high cost of cheap drugs.” What a sobering and important presentation! Thank you for bringing this critical situation to our attention.

Rosemary's excellent presentation brought another important front in this power struggle with China. This subject needs to be brought to our representatives who can do something about it. All the programs this year have been excellent thanks to Jim and the program committee and others involved. Of course, Linda seems to be the one that can press all the right buttons to make our webinars work. Kudos to her.

Perhaps the most compelling and significant topic that I have heard in years. Gibson's "The High Price of Low Cost Drugs" presentation is a national security concern, which affects all US citizens. To learn that 90% of our drugs come from China and their methods of manipulating the market should be by known to every member of Congress and the Defense Department.

She was direct and to the point. She didn't mince words and was very clear about the problem.

Certainly makes one think what they can do to make an impact.

Excellent presentation and fascinating look at one of many industries that are at great risk due to their dependence on China. Perfect example of content you won’t find elsewhere. Thanks to Jim for hosting and I think Marla did a very good job handling questions.

CONGRATULATIONS, for bringing such a informative topic to all of us, EXCELLENT! I wish everyone ( many friends ) could have heard this. I was disappointed not to hear my questioned asked. DID YOU GET A VACCINE SHOT,AND WHICH ONE ? : )

Thank you to our WAC members who were responsible for bringing Rosemary Gibson to inform/alert us to Drugs & drug ingredients coming out of China!
QUESTIONS:
1. If we the consumers demand NON-generic drugs (and are willing to pay the price), rather than accepting the less expensive generic version, would this be a safer way to go? Or have the Chinese already cornered that market that includes the necessary ingredients that go into the non-generic versions of the drugs?
2. It's pretty scary if these COVID-19 shots are using ingredients coming out of China! Does anyone know???
This presentation is one of the very best . . . but then, all of the speakers have been excellent. Kudos to WAC .... so greatly appreciated.

Yes, branded drugs may contain chemical starting materials from China. Remdisivir for COVID is one of them.
Last month a media outlet in Asia reported that one of the western vaccines was made with components produced by a Chinese company. I have not studied vaccines nor corroborated this report.

I'm shocked and I hope there's some way we can get this presentation to our congressman, Raul Ruiz. Since he's also a doctor, I'm sure he would be most interested.

Excellent point, Nancy. I have a contact in Ruiz’s office and will get this to them.

I was impressed with the speaker Rosemary today and her ability to stay on topic and do an incredible job via Zoom with her presentation, power point slides and answering questions pertinent to world affairs related to the subject. Marla (the facilitator) did a great job with the Q&A. I found it very interesting and stayed engaged the entire time!

I’m in healthcare and still felt like I learned a lot.
I am excited to share this program with colleagues and friends.

Listened to the program and I did terrible on the poll voting. The program was excellent, but disturbing to learn the stronghold China has on the world's supply
of drugs. Marla did a very good job.

Excellent talk and a shocking reminder of how monopolistic practices can destroy a market economy. That is why we have anti-trust laws in this country but there are no effective anti-trust laws in the international market. Thus such practices have implications beyond the pharmaceutical industry. Kudos to Rosemary. Keep up the good fight!
