First rate presentation. His reference to the current situation being similar to that in the Pacific in 1937 was chilling but realistic.

And applause to Programs Committee member Patricia Pyle for her clearly-stated, most professional speaker introduction of the season.

This presentation and the accompanying Q&A session were extremely thought provoking and worrisome with respect to the current and future maligned interface between the US and China, with severe global implications. Mr. Chang is well-informed and quite articulate; his insights and viewpoints are to be respected. His indirect challenges to the leadership of our country with respect to adopting a coherent deterrent strategy with China are sound but, unfortunately falling on deaf ears at the current time.
