One of the most timely & fascinating speakers we have had. I learned a considerable amount of the challenges we face in our dealings with China & what to possibly anticipate with the changing of our leadership. Thank you!

Great presentation. I liked the longer presentation by Dr Pillsbury while still giving us time for a good Q&A.

First, I'd like to thank Bob Garrott, one of your members, for inviting me again. Secondly, thanks also to Linda Borses for allowing me to register, although I've been a guest previously.
I thought this session with Michael Pillsbury was the most informative and insightful discussions I've seen at the World Affairs Council. Michael Pillsbury and Gordon Chang are the pre-eminent American scholars and experts on China. Both have served multiple presidents from both parties. I learned much from listening today, thank you. Excellent presentation.
Additionally, thanks to Becky for reading my question. I've asked questions before but this was the first time my question was presented - thank you.

Michael Pillsbury gave us a wonderful account of the history of Chinese-American relations. A wake-up call to all Americans. His story-telling method was fascinating and what made it more amazing was that he experienced a lot of it first-hand. Thank you, Mr Pillsbury and thank you WACD for another great program!

Fantastic presentation!!! I loved Mr. Pillsbury's even keeled analysis of our political stance in regard to a very complex society, global competitor, political and financial challenger. I know China well but felt like an amateur listening to this guru. One of the best talks I have heard. Thank you.

An interesting and informative speaker with a "folksy" presentation.
However, I learned the most through the questions and wish he had more time to give details in his answer. To me the bottom line is that China is becoming G-1 . While we have pulled up our oars during the last administration, they have successfully entered multiple markets and nations through the Belt and Road Initiative and will own the roads and ports when the developing nations can't pay their debts.

We were so sorry to be late signing in because he was a tremendous speaker with a significant depth of knowledge and very apolitical to boot. His extra 15 minutes were greatly appreciated

ONE OF THE BEST PROGRAMS WE EVER HAD. DR. PILLSBURY IS SO VERY PERSONABLE AND SMART, WITH A CHARMING TOUCH OF HUMOR. HE KEPT THE AUDIENCE WANTING MORE. BY ALL MEANS, HAVE HIM BACK WHEN WE ARE ABLE TO GATHER!

Dr. Pillsbury was fantastic! So much new information about US-China relations, along with his thoughts on what the future might hold. I am in awe of his knowledge and thankful he will continue on in the Biden administration.

We could have spent two hours with Dr. Pillsbury on the background and issues of US-China relations. His value added is knowing the historical background and surrounding objectives of the two countries for the past 60 years, allowing him to bridge the time gap and help the audience better understand the current state of affairs.

Moreover, he is indeed an expert on the China subject, a true professional, with a wealth of knowledge regarding the East Asia/Pacific Region, and an ability to explain it all in plain terms. We look forward to future WACD sessions with him, and trust that the new administration will take heed of his advice and counsel in a balanced manner.

I apologize for missing the first 1/2 hr. of Mr. Pillsbury’s talk. A client requested a showing on short notice of a South Palm Desert property and, not yet being retired, my clients must always come first.

I enjoyed what I heard but was concerned by Mr. Pillsbury's characterization of government officials as foolishly naive about China's capabilities and our own infallibility. I would hope that our think tanks would employ something similar to Israeli intelligence's 10th man "devil’s advocate" in matters of such import. Surely they've read Sun Tzu? Perhaps his remarks were intended to be taken tongue in cheek. I certainly hope so.
